Apparently, it’s the most popular set!

The Tundra set is said to be the most popular among the Supergranulation series.

Indeed, it includes unique colors such as Tundra Pink and Tundra Violet.

It also features a wide range of hues, including orange and green, which helps explain its popularity.

The set reflects the rich colors of the tundra—its snow, soil, and moss.

Tundra Orange
  • Lightfastness:★★★★(Very good)
  • Transparency: Transparent
  • Solubility: Semi-soluble
  • Pigments: PBr7, PR233, PY43

undra Orange evokes the reddish-brown grass of the permafrost.
Yellowish brown with specks of red appearing throughout.

Tundra Pink: Schmincke Horadam Watercolors [Tundra]②

Tundra Pink
  • Lightfastness: ★★★★ (Very good)
  • Transparency: Transparent
  • Solubility: Semi-soluble
  • Pigments: PB29, PR233

Tundra Pink is a separating color of red-violet and red!
You can clearly see the red pigment, but since it’s close in hue to red-violet, it doesn’t stand out too much.

Tundra Violet: Schmincke Horadam Watercolors [Tundra]③

Tundra Violet
  • Lightfastness: ★★★★ (Very good)
  • Transparency: Semi-transparent
  • Solubility: Low solubility
  • Pigments: PB29, PBr6

Tundra Violet is the color I fell in love with at first sight.
Brown and black tones are mixed with blue.
The watercolor artist Kiyo. used it to paint a cat.

Unloading is complete, and I’m back home.
I will carefully and gratefully read through the feedback cards I received.
Thank you so much for viewing my work and purchasing so many postcards—it truly means a lot to me.
My heartfelt thanks to the organizer, Mr./Ms. Yoshisue, for handling everything from planning and preparation to setup and venue management with such meticulous care.
I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Tundra Blue: Schmincke Horadam Watercolors [Tundra]④

Tundra Blue
  • Lightfastness: ★★★★ (Very good)
  • Transparency: Transparent
  • Solubility: Semi-soluble
  • Pigments: PB29, PBr7

Tundra Blue appears as navy in dark areas and as cobalt-blue-like in lighter areas.
If you can control both blues, you’ll be able to create various expressions with just one color.

Tundra Green: Schmincke Horadam Watercolors [Tundra]⑤

Tundra Green
  • Lightfastness: ★★★★★ (Excellent)
  • Transparency: Opaque
  • Solubility: Low solubility
  • Pigments: PG19, PBr6

Tundra Green is a mossy green. The water edges turn brown.
It’s a subdued green that I really like.
When combined with Forest Olive, the shadows become more pronounced.

Sample Artwork Using Schmincke Horadam Watercolors [Tundra]

  • Tundra Orange: Dog
  • Tundra Pink: Background
  • Tundra Violet: Shadows on the dog, eyes, and nose

Tundra Orange turns reddish-brown when applied thickly.
It dissolves easily and produces rich colors effortlessly.
Tundra Pink ended up looking like a sweet potato…
I think I could have utilized the complexity of Tundra Violet better with more skill.

  • Tundra Blue: Background
  • Tundra Green: Fish

Tundra Blue is like a cross between Deep Sea Green and Deep Sea Indigo.
It may also resemble the blue shades in Gansai paints. I really like the contrast in saturation.
Tundra Green is a dull green.
Since it’s opaque, it has a mysterious look as if a bit of white was mixed in.
